Jozien's brother died three days ago. It was one of those neurological diseases in which he slowly lost motor control. Jozien said she thinks he stopped breathing.
Don has ALS and is in similar condition. He can no longer eat but is being fed somehow. Jozien can understand him - yes or no - in the mornings. Never anything deep. Neither he nor her brother want(ed) to use MAID. It's as Saulitis said (last line of prev post).
