I see what you see. I'm not sure where I got this image, but when I went hunting just now, it is the best. Most others are darker. It certainly looks as if there *could* be another mouse on the bread.
My goodness. Thank you! This site has a little bit of zoom in available. And now, sad to say, a mouse doesn't show up for me. I think the shadows on the interior of the bread are just darker than I would have expected. Sigh. Well, it was a thought. And an exploration.....Thanks again.

DeleteDammit! Now you've guilted me into getting my sketchbook out.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I think Georg should have put a gleam in the mouse's eye to create tension between the living creature and the dead fish.
OMG!! Good eye!!! I hadn't noticed the mouse. I agree about the gleam; it would've done as you say.
DeleteI think the mouse is looking at another mouse who's in the bread. Hope you can blow up the photo.
ReplyDeleteI can't find your source. Wiki art doesn't have this painting. Anyway, the interior of the bread doesn't look quite right to me. Ha.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! But I'm grateful to both you and Greg. Each time I've looked at this piece I've seen a little more.
