  1. That is a sad shocker. I read a lot of his posts by clicking through your page. Al always seemed full of life, and I really liked his non-judgmental philosophy of "many ways to live."

    1. Yes, a shocker!

Did you see the progression in the comments in prev post. I never imagined!

He was a kind man....taking care of Lou through his cancer, death and dissolution of his estate.

We'd been to so many of same places I traveled vicariously. I'll miss him.

  2. Here's a blogpost from Al's about selling Lou's stuff after he died. It conveys much about Al.

  3. Thank you for posting this. I wouldn't have had any way to know otherwise. I encountered his blog through yours, so I did not know him in "real life" but there is something real to "virtual" life too. So I'm glad to know, rather than just wondering.

  4. You're welcome JudithK. If Maple Valley Gal hadn't alerted me I'd probably gone on another week or two just wondering. But Al had been posting at least every other day, so after 7 or 8 there was cause for wonder...and maybe concern.

Al stopped by a couple of times when I was in Albuquerque. We would visit for a couple of hours & then part. Last time he told of some of his adventures in advertising when he went to Montreal, Singapore and several other exotic places. He seemed to truly relish the quiet life of van-dwelling.

    1. MFH, I only recently learned about Al. I camped with both Al and Lou. I will miss them both. You followed my blog a long time. I am just reviewing it now in prep for writing my autobiography. Maybe we will meet on the road. I will be in Quartzsite 2025-26 season.

    2. Hello Swankie,

Nice to hear from you again. My traveling days are over. The heart attack in 2020 took the wind out of my sails. In Oct of 2023, I returned to our home in Albuquerque expecting to soon die. Though I'm now on hospice, I'm still here, but do not have the energy to travel. I'm not on FB so cannot reach you through it. Please feel free to email me at mfh20502000@yahoo.com. If you're ever in Albuquerque it'd be great to see you.
