We were late getting the lights up. It was before the 25th but we'd just started enjoying them when everyone else was celebrating Valentine's. Then, the other day, they pooped out. It was tragic! Today, having decided they're too pretty to take down, we put up a fresh strand.
A much nicer porch-light too.
They're on a light-sensor and turn themselves on/off.
WeI like the lights! We've had a small Christmas display up inside the single room we live in for over two years now. very cheerfull. Maybe one day I'll write up something about it.

Delete20 years now of living in 380 sf (living space plus a bathroom) in the corner of a 1500 sf barn which is my workshop. The Wife has a 400 sf plus deck workshop of her own. And of course we have 14 acres of rolling woods to wander as well
DeleteHow incongruous!!! Here you are, a renowned and obviously brilliant engineer living in a barn! And not only that, but you've evidently managed to convince a woman to keep you company....in your workshop. Hmmm, that's quite a story.
DeleteI've read almost three years of your early blogs and haven't seen anything about how all this came about. Could you give us snippets.
Also, just before you "disappeared," you were about to or maybe already had taken delivery on a new pickup. Did that happen? Do you have any travel plans? How about coming to Taos in the fall for the balloon fiesta? I know you don't like crowds, but it is still a relatively small event & the balloons against the NM sky w the sun shining through them is one of the prettiest events I've seen.
Waited until late 2023 to order a truck (after surgery) and have had a Ford Ranger since about March of 2024. Been on a few trips and have more lined up.
