7:30 pm - 1st dose of morphine to relieve the pain of angina.
The morphine takes effect quickly; there's a slight euphoria. Having signed my death warrant - the agreement to receive services - the relief from pain reminds of Faust's pact w the devil.
When asked about religion I affirmed my commitment to sybarism.

DeleteMichele cut me off about 20 years ago but she and Michelle Cook have become good friends. The neuropathy in Michele's feet from the chemo made it increasingly hard for her to take the bus. For the past 15 years Michelle has been taking her to the store and on other errands. She provided invaluable support in 2015 when Susan, Michelle's mom, was dying. I've wondered what became of you.
