Last summer i planted some cantaloupe. It was so phenomenally better than the stores' i ordered some melon & corn seeds from the seed bank in Arizona.
When i ran out of room i went across the street and asked Andrea, who i'd never met before, if i could plant in her yard. She said yes!
This is a blue collar neighborhood. After a day of work, single women have no interest in landscaping. Andrea's 16-year-old son is too busy. She was willing to let me have at it. I made the sticks out of paint stirrers from Michelle's collection. Artists collect everything.

There's nothing like home-grown melon. Hope you (and Andrea) have a bountiful harvest.
ReplyDeleteSo, seems you are having some good days, and planting corn and melons is good. I am envious and glad for you. I assume you will have to go water them....In my gardening days, I was devoted to FOOD, ornamentals are nice and pleasing, but food is really so...
ReplyDeleteThe roller coaster is outa control!!!
DeleteAll our ornamentals get is water. I don't do much more with the food either, but now with the heat it's almost a daily requirement. Some days i just can't. I missed 3 and almost lost 'em all, but they surprised me by bouncing back.
